TEVA

TEVA has a huge collection of sheet music covers. I tried to make this larger but this seems to be the only size it can be.

This is Murfreesboro after all. We don't want another Nude Gwen scandal.

Well, this has really been a learning experience. One staff member asked how to post Flickr letters and before we finished we had seven different people involved!! Do I really think I will have occasion to need to spell with Flickr in the future? Maybe not, but next time I see a block of HTML, I'll consider that copying and pasting might be the answer. What a great way to learn new skills.

Flickr

I had fun playing around with Flickr last night. Hope you will enjoy this quote from Mark Twain as much as I did.

In my front entryway I have a picture of Mark Twain's house and above it a picture of Jane Austen's house just to give him heartburn!!

Next weekend I'm going to try to upload some family photos to Flickr. I created an account last night but then ran out of time.

LPLS ONLINE RESOURCES

What a great opportunity to discover all the wonderful resources we have at Linebaugh. I use TEL frequently. In fact, last night at book discussion I dazzled folks with the research I'd done on Orhan Pamuk, the Turkish writer who won the Nobel prize for literature last year. The funny part is that everyone of them has access to the same information becasue I got it all through TEL!

For this exercise I decided to look at Rosetta Stone. I never would have taken the time to register and try the program without Learning 2.0. It's a great way to learn a language. I plan to use it some more at home and I even feel that I would be able to help a patron get started. So, all I can say to you is, "Je suis une femme dans la biblioteque!" If you use Rosetta Stone you'll understand.

Jane Austen is one of my favorite writers. When I was in graduate school and had to learn DOS because my professor thought computers were going to be important to libraries, I used AUSTEN as my password. I want to make a statement that books would always be more important than computers. Well, I guess I was right in some ways but he was spot on about how crucial computers would be in the library world.

I always tell people that librarians are quick to embrace new technologies so now I have to put my money (translated as time and effort) where my mouth is.
