Jane Austen is one of my favorite writers. When I was in graduate school and had to learn DOS because my professor thought computers were going to be important to libraries, I used AUSTEN as my password. I want to make a statement that books would always be more important than computers. Well, I guess I was right in some ways but he was spot on about how crucial computers would be in the library world.

I always tell people that librarians are quick to embrace new technologies so now I have to put my money (translated as time and effort) where my mouth is.
